- Measuring Cups (Liquid and Dry): Help yourself control your portions but measuring out exactly what you are eating or drinking.
- Food Scale: Food scales can give individuals a sense of security in knowing exactly the amount they are eating, especially when it comes to protein and eating solid foods again.
- Blender: a blender will be useful in the Pureed phase of your post surgery diet, in addition it they can make a delicious protein drink or smoothie.
- Food Storage Containers: After surgery you will be consuming very small portions and as you progress you may be able to consume slightly bigger amounts. Buy a variety of small to medium portion sized containers. These will also be helpful if you decide to food prep!
- Blender Bottle: blend your protein shake to a perfect consistency without an actual blender. This is a great item to bring on the go or if you do not have a blender readily available to make your protein drink. They also have liquid measurements on them so you can track your fluid intake as well!
- Water Infuser: Make water a little less boring and infuse some fresh fruit into it such as berries, lemons or limes.
- Inspiralizer: After surgery people often do not tolerate pasta very well so being able to make your veggies into noodles is a great alternative!
- Slow Cooker or Air Fryer: Crocks pots, slow cookers, insta pots or air fryers are all great to have on hand for meal prep after surgery! Make larger quantities without all the hassle and freeze what you do not use for a later date!
- Ramekins: These are useful for assuring your portions are remaining small. Use them for baked goods or any dish you may choose.
- Portion Control Plate: You may or may not struggle to keep your portions in check but having a portion control plate on hand never hurts! A cheap way to assure you are staying in check with your portion sizes.
